You get one email at each of these points before the certificate runs out. We look at the dates once a day.

Add a website whose address starts with https. Each time we look at it, we also read the date its certificate runs out. This works on every plan, Free included.
Where the reminder goes
By email, to the addresses that get that website’s alerts. Certificate reminders are email only. They do not go to WhatsApp, so they do not use up your WhatsApp messages.
See the date in your account
Each website’s page in your account shows the date its certificate is valid until and how many days are left, so you can check without waiting for an email.
After you renew
When we see the new certificate, the reminders start over for the new date. We do not renew the certificate for you: that is done where your website is hosted.
